Stuck in an Elevator for 41 hours!

April 30, 2008

I was once searching for some new music on the internet (www.mp3-codes.com), and when I heard a new one from Florida featuring Timbaland, I decided to watch its music video on Youtube. Entering the song title “Elevator” in the searchbox, a different result which I didn’t expected, appeared on the first video result. A video footage entitled Man stuck in elevator for 41 hours was recorded by the company’s security camera showing the victim’s actions for 41 hours. After putting it on New Yorker on April 21, 2008, several video clips emerged on youtube, which received a lot of page views and comments from other users.

Nicolas White, 34, production manager of Business Week, took his longest cigarette break around 11pm on October 1999. Going back to the office on the 43rd floor of the McGraw-Hill building, he got in car no. 30 and press number 43. Afterwards, the elevator shook and then it stopped. He didn’t panicked because he thought he would be rescued at that moment. Nevertheless, his prediction didn’t happen since nobody noticed that he was trapped inside the elevator. He pressed the emergency button, no one responded.. Pressing it again, no one responded. Until he saw an alarm button mounted in the roof, and he pressed it, not knowing that its range is limited. Instead of feeling annoyed and anxious of what happened to him, he just sit patiently while waiting it to function.
